A Christmas Carol

We went to A Christmas Carol today as well at the Hale Theater. Well I shouldn't say we because Abe, Bryce and Kaylee didn't go. Bryce was out of town wrestling and Kaylee wasn't allowed (no children under the age of 4) so Abe got to stay home with her. So it was my mom, grandma, Nykol, and me. We got dressed up and went. This wasn't the first time we've been. We've gone about three times in a row and then didn't go last year. We've really enjoyed it in the past and this time it was good, but they've changed a few things and in mine and my families opinion not for the better.

Pictures

Today we took Kaylee to get some professional Christmas pictures taken. See for her 6 month pictures it landed near Easter and she is in a cute spring dress,
her 9 month pictures landed in July so we decided to get her picture taken in her awesome Fourth of July outfit,
and finally her 12 month photo shoot was in October so of course she had her in a cute Halloween outfit.
So with Christmas season upon us we realized we have Kaylee dress up for all the major holidays except for Christmas done professionally. So a few days ago we were like lets get her picture taken in a Christmas outfit.
Also I just want to note that none of these pictures would have been possible without Target's $3.99 coupon for their photo sheets.

Christmas Time is Here

So it took some time to find time to put the lights on the house, but we finally did it. I'm happy to have the lights and mostly straight as well. We did pretty well for our first time either of us has put lights on a house. Now I need to figure out how to light up my wreath/door, but that might just have to wait until next year.  I love Christmas it's just so fun. I will be posting more pictures of my house and my grandma's decorations.

Thanksgiving

So Thanksgiving was really nice this year. Almost everything that was made tasted good and we timed things almost perfectly. The menu was turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stove top stuffing, corn (frozen and canned), candied yams (sweet potatoes), red cabbage (a Swedish recipe of Bryce's), a green bean casserole, and homemade rolls. Yep I think that was everything. Oh wait and we attempted fresh made cranberry relish (not so yummy).

Swedish Ginger Snaps

So when asking everyone want they wanted to do this holiday and he said he want to make Swedish ginger snaps. So we said ok and he went looking for a recipe. The recipe was simple enough, it called for cardamon, which I had never heard of, and light molasses which we couldn't find. It also said that the cookies were best if made a month in advance. So over the Thanksgiving break we made them.

Here is the dough

Here is the dough rolled out
Here are the cookies out of the oven
And here are the cookies waiting to be stored for a month.
