Pumpkin Carving 2012

Our Annual pumpkin craving event. It was slightly a sad evening because no one really liked how their pumpkins turned out but me.

Pumpkins in order. Nykol, Bryce, my mom, Abe, and me.

Usually we try to carve pumpkins a few days before Halloween. However, this year Halloween was on a Wednesday and Bryce was having a party on Saturday that would need pumpkins on the porch to greet his guest and Nykol was leaving on the Thursday before Halloween. So to have everyone there and to have pumpkins for both Halloween and the party we carved them on Wednesday before Halloween. Which should have been fine because it was so cold outside. But then the temperature rose and no one felt like hauling all those pumpkins back to the refrigerator so that is why the pumpkins look extra bad in the picture below.

So Bryce was so disappointed in his pumpkin he ended up carving two more on Saturday and that is why there are extra pumpkins above. Here are his creations before the heat killed them.

Bunt Cake of Awesomeness

So I found this awesome cake idea on pinterest and decided to give it a try. Now I am horrible with how to posts. Here is the link to the cake done by someone else. There are good pictures and even a video if you would like to replicate this fun cake. So we tried this once before with just white cake mixes and for some reason we could not dye the white cake black. It just was a yucky grey green color. So we did it with a chocolate and white cake.

Mix the cakes according to the box. Split the white cake mix into two bowls and dye them whatever color you want and dye the chocolate cake black. Then you layer the bunt cake pan with batter. First the black, then one color, and then the other color and top it with black again. Don't stir it. Then bake for 40 minutes.

Take your frosting split it up and dye it. Then microwave it to make it a little runny so you can drizzle it over the cake to make it yummy.

Then you cut into the cake and reveal the awesomeness of the cake.

Kaylee's Birthday Party

Kaylee had a Minnie Mouse themed birthday party.

She was quite tired that night. Turns out she was getting sick.

Blowing out candles. It took a few tries and with a little bit of help she got it.

Opening presents, which she loved to do more than what was in the wrapping paper. She would open one and drop it on the ground and get super excited to open another one. It was kinda funny to watch,
