10 Months

Kaylee is 10 Months old today. In the past month Kaylee has learned how to give fives, claps, and wave when she feels like it. She is still always smiling and has taken just two steps. She is still really unsure of herself with walking on her own, but that's ok I would prefer her to wait until she's a year anyway. 8 more months until she can go to nursery which I can't wait for.

The 24th of July: Pioneer Day. Part 4 The Cake

While looking at blogs around the 4th I come across this flag cake that was really cool on 36th Avenue, which was showing another blog Turbo Bubble Gum, which I think was even trying it from some other blog. But anyway I thought that my siblings, Abe and me should try this for the 24th since it was too late for the 4th and because we use red white and blue the the 24th as well. For actual good instructions on this cake I recommend going to Turbo Bubble Gum.

Ok so you will need one white, one blue, and two red cakes as you can see below.

Then you have to cut the cakes in to layers and cut out some circles, now I don't have pictures of all that but the one below.

Then you stack the cakes and frost.

Once the cake is beautiful like below, you cut into and see your lovely flag.

The 24th of July: Pioneer Day. Part 3 The Parade

The 24th of July would not be complete without the parade. There are all kinds of floats and schools bands and all that good stuff that's in a parade.  Kaylee enjoyed most of it. She really like the other kids that were around and wished she could join them. Next year. She also tried to eat a rock.

The 24th of July: Pioneer Day. Part 2 The Concert in the Park

So every year they have this little family like concert in the evening in the park on Sunday. So we decided to go down with Kaylee just to see how it would be. It wasn't too bad. Kaylee enjoyed pulling the grass. I probably shouldn't have let her, but she was really enjoying it and the grass needed mowing anyway.

The 24th of July: Pioneer Day. Part 1 The Carnival

So here in Utah and I guess in the LDS community we celebrate the 24th of July. The reason is because in 1847 the Mormon pioneers settled in the Salt Lake valley. This also coincides with Spanish Fork's (which is were my family lives) Fiesta Days. So there was plenty to do around there that weekend and here are some pictures and stuff of the festivities.

Bryce, Abe, Nykol, and my mom road some rides and they were having fun until they road the zipper and then my mom gave a little sick and they quit. But they still had some fun.

Here is J.E. and Micky (relatives from Georgia) Kaylee and Grandma sitting in the shade, enjoy a drink and a bit of down time.

Kaylee enjoyed her down time in her stroller, sittin back in her shades but she didn't get left out of the ride game because she got to ride on the merry-go-round which went oddly fast, but she really enjoyed even though you can't tell from the picture.
