1 Month - Conner

So Conner has been alive for a month now. I hate how time doesn't feel right. It's like I feel I just had him and yet it feels like its been forever. He pretty much doesn't do much yet. He is getting better control of he's head and is pretty strong. He got to celebrate Halloween. Kaylee is getting use to him. A few does ago she actually touch him and gave him a kiss. She seems to like him. In the beginning she could care less ablout him, but more and more she wants to include him in our daily activities. I'm just wanting for her to get mad at him and attack. But so far so good.

Halloween Night

Finally Halloween is over. Don't get me wrong I really enjoy Halloween, but this year it felt over after the first trunk or treat and Bryce's party on Saturday. Then it felt slightly odd to have more trunk or treating on Tuesday since Halloween felt over. So now it is Wednesday and I was so done with Halloween and ready for Christmas, but we all dressed up anyway. But it wasn't too bad. And Kaylee got to run around with some cousins so that was fun for her. She has been staying up later than normal due to the festivities and she is a person who doesn't do well on less sleep so she was a little grumpy last night. And she really didn't want to take pictures.

Pictures of Conner with his Great Grandma and Grandma.

Kaylee did not like the nose that Abe put on. It grossed her out or something.

Conner hanging out on the couch and Kaylee hanging out on the stairs.

I didn't have enough picture of Kaylee in her costume so here we are.

Double the Trunk or Treating 2012

Round one of trunk or treating was on Saturday at my ward which my mom and Abe took Kaylee. I didn't go because I had Conner and I didn't want him around all those little kids who could be sick. I hear she ran around pretty much the whole time having a blast and everyone loved her costume.

Here she is playing with her friend Lily who was dressed as a lily fairy.

Making her rounds.

Got to have a picture with grandma.

Round two of trunk or treating was at my mom's ward. So I was worried that everyone would be dressed as Merida from Brave but she was the only one at both trunk or treats.

Smiling with teeth, notice how she has to clench her fist.

Halloween Sugar Cookies 2012

We decorated sugar cookies again this Halloween and it was fun.

Abe creating a masterpiece.

Abe's masterpiece completed

So Nykol was done decorating cookies, but we still had some cookies left to decorate. So she started frosting all the pumpkins white with zero decorations to finish faster and didn't tell anyone. I was appalled when I realized what she was doing, but found it kinda of funny as well. See the white cookie in her hand. Don't worry we add details to them.

Kaylee decorating cookies for the first time.

Conner was not able to decorate this year, but he did don his pumpkin sleeper for the occasion.

The completed cookies.

Nykol also made some Hocus Pocus Rolls which were yummy. They are croissants with a marshmallow dipped in cinnamon and sugar in the center and baked. But you need to make sure the edges are closed.

And my mom made some pumpkin chocolate cookies which I hear were not bad, but could've use some more spice.

Pumpkin Carving 2012

Our Annual pumpkin craving event. It was slightly a sad evening because no one really liked how their pumpkins turned out but me.

Pumpkins in order. Nykol, Bryce, my mom, Abe, and me.

Usually we try to carve pumpkins a few days before Halloween. However, this year Halloween was on a Wednesday and Bryce was having a party on Saturday that would need pumpkins on the porch to greet his guest and Nykol was leaving on the Thursday before Halloween. So to have everyone there and to have pumpkins for both Halloween and the party we carved them on Wednesday before Halloween. Which should have been fine because it was so cold outside. But then the temperature rose and no one felt like hauling all those pumpkins back to the refrigerator so that is why the pumpkins look extra bad in the picture below.

So Bryce was so disappointed in his pumpkin he ended up carving two more on Saturday and that is why there are extra pumpkins above. Here are his creations before the heat killed them.

Bunt Cake of Awesomeness

So I found this awesome cake idea on pinterest and decided to give it a try. Now I am horrible with how to posts. Here is the link to the cake done by someone else. There are good pictures and even a video if you would like to replicate this fun cake. So we tried this once before with just white cake mixes and for some reason we could not dye the white cake black. It just was a yucky grey green color. So we did it with a chocolate and white cake.

Mix the cakes according to the box. Split the white cake mix into two bowls and dye them whatever color you want and dye the chocolate cake black. Then you layer the bunt cake pan with batter. First the black, then one color, and then the other color and top it with black again. Don't stir it. Then bake for 40 minutes.

Take your frosting split it up and dye it. Then microwave it to make it a little runny so you can drizzle it over the cake to make it yummy.

Then you cut into the cake and reveal the awesomeness of the cake.
