The Grand America

So we heard all about how cool these window displays are at the Grand America and since we were up there we decided to go look at it. Now my grandma was under the impression that every thing would be made out of candy, like they used to do downtown years ago. Well only one thing was made of candy and it was kinda cool, but the main thing wasn't. So there is this penguin and he is in search for the stars of Christmas. So there were these window looking things (18 of them) set up with pictures and a little story and you had to find the star and mark it on a clue on a card. When you get them all, you take your card to a lady at the toy store and she gives you a sticker and you take that to the candy shop and get a cookie. It wasn't bad, it was kinda fun.

Now this is a gingerbread house.

Christmas Lights on Temple Square

So we went to see the lights on Temple Square. It was a little cold, but it was nice. We bundle up Kaylee and walked around. She pointed and oohhhed and aaahhhed. It was really nice.

Dicken's Christmas Festival

So over the weekend we all went Salt Lake City to look at the lights on temple square. And since we were up there we decided to go to the Dicken's Christmas Festival at the Utah State Fair Grounds. It was not bad. Authentic wise it lacked a bit, but it was still fun. There were fun little shops and we ate fair like food and saw reindeer and Kaylee got an awesome toy to fling about. I would go again if I was free.

Eating and such

Nykol's Guitar Concert

Nykol took a guitar class at school and at the end of the semester they do a concert for the parents and we went to it. It was on Thursday the 15th. It wasn't bad for a beginner concert. I didn't really care for the director he just seemed to lack. But it was nice and then we went to eat and it was yummy so all in all it was a nice evening.

Annual Christmas Party

So every year my grandma throws a Christmas party at her house. She invites the whole family which totals a little over a 100. This year there ended up being only 88 people were able to come. There is a dinner, a program (this year it was a fun game), and then Santa comes, kids 12 and under and those new to the family get to sit on his lap and get a present (it used to be everyone but it was getting to long). The adults still get presents but they don't get to sit on Santa's lap.

The pictures of the tables are from last year. This year they were all green table clothes which I like better but the reason for the red and green table clothes is because the napkins and cups come in red and green packs not red or green, usually.

All dressed up to go to the ball.
 Playing the game.
 Santa has arrived.
Kaylee wants to play with Santa.

Getting to sit on Santa's lap.

Finally get to open the present.

First Presidency Christmas Devotional

So ever year on the first Sunday of December, the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has a devotional and this year was no exception. It was really nice. My mom, Bryce, Nykol, Kaylee, Abe and I all got our different hot chocolates and cookies and headed down to the basement. We all just sat and watched an uplifting message about the meaning of Christmas and felt the spirit. Its amazing how an hour little devotional can really affect your mood. I love the Gospel.
